As most of you might remember, the last time I was in Texas, in October, I was trying to raise money to fund the installation of solar panels. I have lived in Haiti for four years now relying only on the city’s power company. The power company is very unpredictable due to the fact that they are not equipped to power the entire area at one time or consistently. On average we were getting electricity for ten hours every three days; sometimes less and rarely more. This leads to many other problems like no running water, inability to plan activities, and hindrances to basic communication to my support system in America. I attribute my strong relationships with the people in my community to the fact that I understand some of their struggle. When they were in the dark for days at a time, so was I. However, I knew that my desire to become a community center that was able to positively impact the people God sent me to, we needed to have access to power routinely. In other words, in order to more effectively connect people to their True Power Source, I needed to offer a reliable electrical power source. I have a genius American friend that visited me in July of 2019. While He was here he began asking me questions concerning my electricity usage, my desired setup, and my budget. Before leaving Haiti he began to design a system for me based on our needs and my nonexistent budget. We worked together (mostly him) to revise the project to ensure it would be the most effective and affordable power system available. I came to America praying to raise $2,500. Just as God has done time and time again, He provided my need. In a few weeks, using His people, God was able to not only meet my monetary need but also encourage me through confirmation. I can not say this enough…. Thank you to each and every person who chose to invest in God’s work through me in Haiti!! God is so good!! Riots and a countrywide shutdown soon followed after I returned to Haiti that Fall. We began 2020 with a big move to a different home in February. Then in March news of Covid-19 began to spread in Haiti. Two days before a harshly, government enforced shut down, in God’s perfect timing, we were finally ready and able to install the new solar power system on March 22. God’s plan is so perfect. We gained access to reliable electricity just in time for the quarantine. I wanted to update you during this time and say THANK YOU SO MUCH! I hope to continue to update you throughout quarantine.
